Hello There & Welcome!

I broke my own golden rule..................

I haven't been on and updated the website in tooooo long... and I apologise!

Anyway, I'm here now, with updates on whats been going on in the Turton family household in the past few weeks (gosh! has it been that long??)

We are on Summer Holiday countdown......15 days to go (At lest for 2 of them, we think that Holly & Mathew finish on the 21st...so 19 days left for them...)

Then a little more relaxed pace of life for a while....except for the Chest trip etc......LOL!

I am quite looking forward to it actually, so expect to see a whole load of photos going up on the gallery as we get "OUT & ABOUT" as much as possible during the summber break!

Alban - Community Opera

Alban is the newly commissioned communnity opera specially written by Tom Wiggal (composer) and John Mole (librettist) for the spectacular space of the Cathedral Nave talling a dramatic, fast moving and inspiring story. Professionally staged and involving over 100 performers - soloists, adult and children's choruses and orchestra drawn from across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire - these 5 perfromances will leave an enduring memory of and ordinary man and his extraordinary fate.

I had the honor of being not only a "lady of the Large Chorus", but the "cue" girl and a member of an elite team responsible for a neat effect with a silk sheet & white rose petals.......(you will have to ask!)
Having never been a real opera fan, I can honestly say, that even with this in mind, I have truly been affected by this new work, I have also thoroughly enjoyed working with some of the nicest people I have ever met! It has been a true honour to be involved with such a community spirited project - despite all the hard work & late night bus trips home..........

Come and have a quick look around our website, especially my handmade jewellery, greetings cards & scrapbooking pages, but also the childrens pages the content of these is decided by the children themselves!

New for June 2009   - Poetry collection

Nothing.....

What see's my eye?

Nothing,

For I am blind to the true beauty of nature.

What hears my ear?

Equally nothing,

For I am deaf, also, to the sounds which are most lovely & fulsome from the wilds.

Where is the Sun?

It is not here! Nor is the moon visible to me.

I know not why, but I have no-one to ask.

Why do the hills and mountain and the lakes hide their loveliness from me?

Why can I not hear the rushing waters, or the lark chorus?

Again! I do not know and I still have no-one to ask.

Do I experience or simply exist? I lack feeling, I lack vision, I lack sound.

Have I hands to hold or eyes to see or ears even, to hear?

Music's sweet strains holds no sway with me -for I cannot perceive it,

Neither can I feel its baritone rumbling through my body.

Rough stone walls show me no difference, for they are not cold,

Neither hard nor damp.

I cry not at the high mountain-top!

Not the hot sun nor the depths of the coldest ocean.

I see neither the high place, or the low.

I remember nothing else.

There was nothing different before this.

I cannot go.

I cannot move.

I cannot change.

I cannot be anything else.

This is how it is.

Void,

           Silence,

                         Empty,

                                      Still.

Nothing......
